Kathleen Pigeon
Co-founder and Owner
Lucky Pigeon Brewing
Kathleen Pigeon, aka ‘Pidge’, is one of the founders and owners of Lucky Pigeon Brewing Company, Maine’s first dedicated gluten-free brewery.
She began her career as a Scientist at several small biotechnology companies, landing at IDEXX Laboratories in 2006. She spent 19 years at IDEXX as a Scientist and Operations Manager for reagent production in the Veterinary diagnostics industry.
As a homebrewer who had to eliminate gluten from her diet, she decided to pursue a long-held dream to open a brewery. Lucky Pigeon was founded in 2018 and opened its tasting room doors in August 2021.
Her experience as a manager, along with her science and business background, combined with a BA in Biology from Colby College and an MBA from UNH, gave her the skills to work toward leading a small business to success.
Learning a lot along the way, they have achieved their goal of providing high-quality, gluten-free beer that is safe for those with celiac disease and enjoyable for all, along with building strong connections with the community through the tasting room and within the beer industry in Maine.
Pidge lives in Gorham with her wife, Bev, co-founder of Lucky Pigeon, as well as their two teenage boys and their dog Reuben. In her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, hiking, woodworking, and visiting local breweries with family and friends.
